When Shane and I started looking for wedding venues, the first place we visited was a school that was built in 1902, and the first room we toured was the restored classroom. And the first thing he said was “if we got married here, you can recreate the slate scene from Anne of Green Gables.” Every day I know I’m lucky to be married to someone that knows me so well and loves me for all my quirks and not despite them. Happy Valentine’s Day to the Gilbert to my Anne, I promise not to actually crack any slates over your head.

I realized I never actually posted something on our anniversary date, so here we are. A whole year married to the love of my life!

Seven years ago today I went on a first date, after already warning him that I’m late for everything and I’ll probably be late for our date too. (I was.) It’s a good thing I warned him in advance, because we’ve almost never been on time for anything since. I love you, babe, sorry for always insisting we need to leave by a certain time and never making my own deadlines.

Shane has been obsessed with baseball games this summer, so I’ve been his baseball bestie (which means I read books and he gets me snacks and explains what’s going on). I know nothing about sports, but I love spending time with him! #notasportsgirlie #newlyweds💍

Ten years ago, I was in Traditions, absolutely dying to find out where I would be working. It feels like no time has passed, but also like it was yesterday.

Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Steakhouse71 with my mom and sister! And I finally got “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” so at long last I’ve gotten all the Guardians songs. #bbi2024
